Julia completed four years of clinical training at the highly regarded Maple Counseling Center, where she provided psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults as well as adjunctive parenting consultations and family therapy. Concurrently, Julia worked as a therapist intern at Beverly Hills and Moreno High School providing crisis intervention and ongoing psychotherapy to students. Upon completing her training, Julia headed the Maple Counseling Center’s Intake and Assessment Program where she oversaw all administrative and program functions, coordinated patient care, and provided training for master and doctoral level therapists working towards licensure.
Julia is also trained in the use of behavior modification techniques for the treatment of severely emotionally disturbed and conduct-disordered youth from her work as a care provider for juvenile criminal offenders at a residential treatment facility. Further, she completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy provided by esteemed psychologist and EFT creator Dr. Sue Johnson.
Julia holds a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Southern California and graduated with high distinction from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
